Dear Spirit, Change Us

Dear Spirit, change us like you changed Jesus on the mountaintop. A great change is needed in the world. We are a part of it. Like Jesus we need to reckon with all that has gone before us. We especially need to reckon with all that is within us. Our experiences of Your Presence are the energy illuminating us and moving us forward into the change. We change not for purposes of chaos but to be ever more in touch with the needs of those around us who are suffering. Infinite opportunities exist for moral change; change from division to communion, from hostility to love, from destruction to healing. May we know the power for change rests within us. May we know too that change happens together. Down from the mountaintop our encounters with others may be fraught with tension, with disagreements surfacing. But we do not seek agreement. We do not seek to change others. We seek to be in communion with others so that Your change may happen between us. Your change asks us to look deeper, wider with a loving heart. To know the power for healing we share. Every encounter we have we share Your energy. Yours is an energy that carries us beyond hope for a kinder world. We are carried into action that creates that kinder world. We persist and we thrive knowing that moral change happens because we make it happen.

Prayer: Beautiful Spirit, may we be wise about change.

Question: What is a depth of change I can join with others to make happen?
